Charleston Lowgators News Release

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (March 3) –The North Charleston Lowgators defeated the Roanoke Dazzle 83-62 on Saturday night at the North Charleston Coliseum. Earlier in the day, Lowgators guard Tierre Brown was reportedly "called up" by an unidentified NBA team and did not play.

The Lowgators scored the first six points of the game and cruised to victory in front of 2877 fans. After Roanoke trimmed a 13-point deficit to one in the second period, the Lowgators exploded with a 15-2 run and never looked back. The home team led by as many as 22.

Lowgators coach said, "I'm excited about this kind of win. This was a team victory. We had to step up without Tierre and we did just that. Everyone got minutes and took advantage of them."

Sedric Webber led the Lowgators with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Alpha Bangura chipped in with 16 off the bench.

The Dazzle, who won a double-overtime game in Greenville on Friday night, had trouble from the field, shooting 32%. They were outrebounded 48-40.

Terrence Shannon had 16 points to pace Roanoke. Mikki Moore was held to 7 points and 6 rebounds.

The Lowgators (23-19) will host Mobile on Monday. The Dazzle play Greenville at home on Tuesday.

The Lowgators and the NBDL cannot release the name of Tierre Brown's new team until they get permission from the NBA.
