Lowell Spinners News Release
LOWELL, Mass. - From Monday, July 19 through Thursday, July 23, the Lowell Spinners received national recognition for their Stephen King bobble head promotion on Friday the 13th through the comic strip "Tank McNamara."
"Tank McNamara" featured Stephen King bobble reads running rampant through out the stadium causing many problems, including jamming up a pitching machine. The comic strip also paid reference to last year's Jack Kerouac bobble head promotion twice.
The Spinners are giving away Stephen King bobble heads to the first 1,500 fans through the gate on August 13th, which is also Friday the 13th.
The King bobble head features him in a Boston Red Sox jersey with the No. 13 and "King" across the back. King is also wearing a Spinners hat and the base is three of his favorite books he has written: "The Dead Zone," "The Green Mile," and "The Dark Tower."
This is the second time the Spinners have been in the "Tank McNamara" comic strip as last year the Jack Kerouac bobble head was featured.
