Elmira Jackals News Release
Elmira, NY - The Elmira Jackals announced today that center Eddy Lowe is just 5 points away from becoming the All-Time leading scorer in Jackals franchise history.
In 341 career games in a Jackals uniform, Lowe has scored 215 points (111 goals, 104 assists). The Montreal, Quebec native, who is on the only player to be with the Jackals since the franchise first hit the ice in 2000-01, is four points behind Randy Murphy, who holds the All-Time record with 219 points (65 goals, 154 assists).
"Eddy has been a very consistent performer for us for five years," said Jackals Head Coach Todd Brost. "Not only does he have impressive numbers, but he's always one of our top defense players and best penalty killers also."
Nicknamed "The Next Mayor of Elmira," Lowe has spent most of his six-year professional career with Elmira and in the process has helped the Jackals reach the Colonial Cup Finals twice. A perennial post-season work horse, the 30-year old Lowe has scored 24 points (11 goals, 13 assists) in 35 playoff games. Arguably his best season was 2003-04 where he scored 53 points, led the team with 25 goals, scored 13 points in 14 playoff games and was named the Star-Gazette Co-Player of the Year along with Don Smith.
