Louisville City FC Announces Slugger Field Seating Changes to Provide Better Fan Experience

LOUISVILLE, Kentucky (Thursday, November 6, 2014) - Louisville City FC, the USL PRO team which will start play in Louisville in March of 2015 at Slugger Field, announced today changes to the seating configuration at Slugger Field in an effort to provide a better all-around fan experience. The Supporter's Zone will be moved to sections 121-124 directly behind the west goal, and the Family Zone will be relocated to sections 101-102 and closer to family amenities.

"We are constantly evaluating our fan experience inside of Slugger Field on a daily basis," said LCFC President Djorn Buchholz. "Following our most recent review of the demand for the Supporter's Zone and the amenities that a Family Zone should have, it became very apparent that this seating change would raise the level of fan experience inside of the venue."

The Supporter's Zone, which will remain a general admission section, will now be situated directly behind the west goal which is located along the third base line. This move allows for the supporters to have a greater impact on the atmosphere of the match and allows for continual growth. It was discovered that the bleacher seats behind the picnic area and in the original Supporter's Zone provide an obstructed view to the field, eliminating a number of seats in this area. That was unacceptable to Louisville City FC officials.

The Family Zone will now be located in sections 101-102 near the southeast corner flag, opposite the Supporter's Zone. The Family Zone will have access to a portion of the covered picnic area to provide shade when needed, access to the merry-go-round, and will provide ample space for young fans and families to get up and walk around.

"In soccer, your supporter's are such a catalyst for your atmosphere," said Buchholz. "Having the supporters directly behind the goal will only help them embed their influence on the match. I know we can't wait to see our supporters fill up this new Supporter's Zone at our first match in March. What a sight that will be."

Season ticket pricing in the Supporter's Zone and Family Zone will not be effected by this change and will remain at $180.

Louisville City FC is currently accepting season ticket deposits for its inaugural 2015 season. The Founding Member's Club, which will only be available to join in this inaugural season, will reward Louisville City FC fans that have been with the club from the beginning and can be joined by purchasing a season ticket for as little as $180.

All Founding Members will receive an exclusive Founding Member scarf, their name on the Founding Member plaque inside Slugger Field, exclusive access to Founding Member special events each season, and first access to select public Louisville City FC special events each season. Access to exclusive and special events will be available to Founding Members each season as long as they maintain their season ticket.

Any fan can become a Founding Member of the Club simply by placing a deposit on season tickets and then paying in full by February 1, 2015. Season tickets start at just $180 for a 15-game package. Deposits for 2015 season tickets are currently being accepted at www.LouisvilleCityFC.com. Placing a deposit now holds a fan's place in line and will allow that fan to select individual seats before those who placed deposits at a later date. Details on how to select actual seats and pay in full will be announced in the next few weeks. All fans who have already placed their season ticket deposit will just need to pay in full by February 1 to secure their spot in the Founding Member's Club.
