
Louisiana Goes To Pensacola For Rematch

Lafayette, LA-The âGators go on the road for the final three games of the season. They visit the Pensacola Civic Center on Thursday to take on the Ice Flyers of Pensacola. Louisiana is coming off a three game winning streak.
"We have been on a role recently," replied âGators head coach Dave MacIsaac when asked about going on the road to take on the Ice Flyers. "The past three games everyone has been playing well. We just need to keep the momentum going."
The two teams faced off on Tuesday, March 16. Pensacola won 7-5. The âGators led 5-4 going into the third period but was outscored 3-0 in the third. Lorne Misita scored two goals in the third period en route to the win. Cam Lilley, who scored two goals, led the IceGators.
The âGators are coming off of three wins. During the stretch Adam Dekker had a save percentage of .947 with 90 saves and only allowing five goals. Trevor Karasiewicz scored three points and added nine assists. He was also named the Sher-Wood Player of the Week.
The Ice Flyers have two players in the top eight in points scored. Misita has 63 points (29 goals and 34 assists) and Chris Rebernik with 60 points (28 goals and 32 assists). Misita also leads the league in shorthanded goals with 6.
"[Lorne] Misita is a very good player," stated MacIsaac. "We had him contained for the first two periods in the last match-up, but he got going in the third period. It is important that we are able to slow him down for the whole game this time."
The âGators remain on the road for the final weekend of the season. Louisiana goes to Mississippi (March 26 and 27) to close out the season.
