
Losing Streak Reaches Six Games With 6-4 Loss

Yuma, AZ - The Tucson Toros winless streak reached six straight games after losing to the Yuma Scorpions 6-4 Friday night.
Tucson jumped out to an early 1-0 lead with a run in the first, but were downed by a big inning by the Scorpions for the second consecutive night. Yuma scored five times in the 3rd inning, just one night after putting up six in the 5th on Thursday.
Leftfielder Lino Garcia hit his first homer of the season and scored a pair of runs. The longball was the Toros only extra-base hit in the contest. First Baseman Cristobal Santana and Shortstop Ryan Priddy both finished with a pair of hits. Rightfielder Victor Ferrante had a single to extend his hitting streak to nine games.
Toros starting pitcher James Garcia took his first loss of the season by allowing five runs in six inning. Lefty Cody Walden threw a scoreless inning with a pair of strikeouts to lower his ERA to 1.80.
The Toros will attempt to avoid the sweep in the final game of the three game series in Yuma on Saturday before a pair off days.. The team will return home for a three game homestand starting Tuesday, June 1st.
