Los Angeles Stars of ABA Evicted For Bouncing Checks

February 24, 2005 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Los Angeles Aftershock News Release

The Los Angeles Stars of the American Basketball Association have been evicted from the Granada Hills Charter High School Gym for bouncing checks in excess of $2000.

Rental fee for the Granada facility was only $340 per game. The Stars were averaging fewer than 20 paid spectators per game. Attempts will be made to collect the past due amount from the league office. If that fails, Granada Hills will be forced to pursue legal action against Lowell Moore, owner of the LA Stars.

Granada's hopes of using profits from the gym rental to buy much needed books and supplies for it's students have now been put on hold.

Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams. For information on professional minor leagues, please see OSC's basketball section.
