Los Angeles D-Fenders Grab Win Over Austin Toros

Los Angeles, CA - The Los Angeles D-Fenders controlled the game from start to finish as they sealed the win over Austin, 111-107.

The D-Fenders came out strong, grabbing the first six points of the game. Ryan Forehan-Kelly brought in 11 points early on, contributing to the D-Fenders 27-20 first quarter lead over the Toros.

Los Angeles maintained the lead, outscoring their opponent 26-21 in the second quarter. Austin committed 12 turnovers in the first half, resulting in 15 points for the D-Fenders. The home team led 53-41 at the close of the first half.

The Toros made a comeback in the third quarter, narrowing the gap to 5 points with 6:02 left in the third. The D-Fenders were able to hold their lead, finishing the quarter 84-71. Going into the fourth quarter, all five starters for Los Angeles had tallied double-digits.

Although the D-Fenders led by as many as 17 points in the game, the Toros battled to bring the score within two points in the final quarter. Austin's Eddie Basden and Alonzo Gee poured in 13 and 11 points respectively, in the fourth quarter, keeping their team in the game.

Gee grabbed 27 points for the Toros, while teammate Dwayne Jones posted a double-double with 13 points and 18 rebounds. Forehan-Kelly was the leading scorer for the D-Fenders with 22 points. D-Fenders Player of the Game, Frank Robinson chipped in with 21 points and seven assists.
