Lorain, OH-February 22-The Lorain County Ironmen and the Prospect League are pleased to announce the 2011 schedule. The Ironmen will open the season June 2nd, in Slippery Rock, PA. The Home Opener will be the following night Friday June 3rd. The game will begin at 7:05pm with fireworks to follow celebrating the start of our second season in Lorain County.
Some highlights of the 2011 schedule include the return of Fireworks on selected dates, and Cedar Point giveaways at every Saturday home game. We will also be giving away a special VIP package from our friends at Cedar Point for the second year.
We are changing our Sunday start times this season to 2pm, to further the idea of low cost family fun. What a great way to spend a sunny, Sunday afternoon. We will also have a special start time for our Monday, June 13 game against the defending champions, the Chillicothe Paints, beginning at 11am.
Teams visiting the Pipe Yard this year will include Eastern Division rivals Slippery Rock, Butler, West Virginia, Richmond, and Chillicothe. Cross divisional games will see the Ironmen hosting the Danville Dans and the Terre Haute Rex.
