Arizona Division Player & Pitcher of the Week:
Javier Lopez, OF, of the Yuma Scorpions has been named as Player of the Week for the Arizona Division. Lopez hit for an average of .444 while leading the GBL in RBIs with eight for the week. The 21 year-old from Puerto Rico also had two doubles and a home run and a total of 12 hits as he helped the Scorpions get to the final day of the season before being eliminated from the playoff picture.
Pete Hartmann, left-handed pitcher for the Surprise Fightin' Falcons is the Arizona Division Player of the Week. Hartmann, a 33-year old player/coach, won 2 and lost zero during the week as he pitched 15 innings without giving up a run while striking out 12 batters. One of his wins was a complete game shutout as he led the Surprise squad back to a .500 record for the season.
