CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Wednesday afternoon's match-up between the Birmingham Barons and Chattanooga Lookouts was not a pretty one, as both teams combined to issue more walks (15) than hits (11), but the Lookouts continued their winning ways with a 7-1 defeat of the Barons at AT&T Field.

The Lookouts plated their first run of the game in the first inning. Rafael Ynoa led off with a double to extend his hitting streak to 18 games. Nick Buss advanced Ynoa to third with a bunt, and a wild pitch by Cameron Bayne (7-10) allowed Ynoa to score.

Birmingham scored their lone run of the game in the third. Lookouts starting pitcher Aaron Miller struggled with his control to open up the inning, which lead to him walking three straight batters. Andy Wilkins then hit a sacrifice fly to plate Tyler Salandino. Miller, however, was able to settle down to record the final two outs of the inning without allowing any further runs.

The Lookouts negated the Barons' run in the bottom portion of the third on an RBI double from Luis Nunez.

Chattanooga extended their lead with two runs in the fifth on a Nunez sacrifice fly and run-resulting wild pitch by Bayne.

C.J. Retherford led off the sixth for the Lookouts with a double and eventually scored on a Matt Wallach single to put the score at 5-1.

The runs kept on coming in the seventh for the Lookouts, as a Kyle Russell RBI double and Retherford sacrifice put the score at its final resting point, 7-1.

Miller (5-6) picked up the win for the Lookouts. In five innings of work, he yielded just one run on two hits and five walks, while striking out seven.

Wes Roemer earned his first save of the season by pitching the final four frames in shutout fashion.

The Chattanooga Lookouts and Birmingham Barons will continue their five-game series at 7:15 P.M., tomorrow. Tickets for this game or any other Lookouts home game can be purchased at the Lookouts Box Office at AT&T Field, online at www.lookouts.com, or by calling (423) 267-4849.
