
Longball defeats Fish in 13-4 loss

The Lancaster Barnstormers launched three homeruns, including two from Reggie Taylor, to beat the Bluefish 13-4 at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard on Wednesday Night. Despite being out hit by just two hits, the Bluefish were still defeated in the second game of three in Bridgeport.
Reggie Taylor started the night for the Barnstormers with a solo homerun on a 2-2 count over the right field wall. Mathews followed by retiring the next three straight batters to end the inning at a 1-0 defecit.
Darryl Brinkley, John Nathans, and Deivi Cruz all singled to lead off the bottom of the first. P.J. Rose then shot a sac fly out to left field, scoring Brinkley to tie the game at one.
Travis Hake put the Barnstormers up 2-1 with a sac fly that brought home Eric Crozier in the second inning. Reggie Taylor followed with his second hit of the night, bringing home Chris Van Rossum. Jason Bowers the doubled down the left field line to bring in Lance Burkhart and Taylor. The Barnstormers left the inning with a 5-1 lead.
Steve Hine led off the bottom of the second with a bunt single and Hector Kuilan singled soon after. Norm Hutchins then singled to score Hine and inch the Bluefish closer 5-2.
With two outs in the fourth inning Taylor capped off a 10 pitch at bat with a two-run homer to right field that gave Lancaster a 7-2 lead. It was Taylor's second homerun of the day third of the series and 22nd of the year.
The Bluefish fought back in the bottom of the sixth as Kuilan recorded his third hit of the night and drove in Willis Otanez.
Jose Ortiz added to the Barnstormer lead in the top of the seventh with a two-run homer to centerfield.
Bryant Nelson, in a pinch hit effort, ripped a solo blast to right field off of Harriger to make the score 11-4 Lancaster.
