Lock Monsters Are Searching For Singers
September 7, 2005 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Albany Devils News Release
LOWELL, Mass. - The Lowell Lock Monsters of the American Hockey League are scouring the Merrimack Valley for performers for the 2005-06 season to sing the American and Canadian national anthems, as well as for employees to work during game nights.
A date has been set for both, with a tryout to be put in place for those interested in performing the anthem duties. That date is Saturday, September 17th at the Tsongas Arena. Tryouts are open to performers of all ages. Soloists, duets, quartets, choirs or singing groups of any size, plus instrumental tryouts are all welcome. Contact Josh Tousignant with the Lock Monsters office at (978) 458-PUCK (7825) for more information or to reserve an audition spot. The Canadian anthem will be performed only once this season at a home game - when the Toronto Marlies come to town on January 29th.
In addition, game night staff is needed for various duties, from working in the team's merchandise department and customer service table, to being promotional team members on the ice during the intermissions or in the stands hosting contests. Individuals must have an outgoing, friendly personality and the desire and availability to work the majority of Lock Monsters weekday and weekend home games.
"This is a great opportunity for anyone wanting to see the inside of a professional sports organization," said Lock Monsters President Kevin Cummings. "For anyone who wants to perform in front of thousands of people, to those interested in getting into pro sports in the future, being at the Tsongas Arena on the 17th is an absolute must."
Only 37 days remain until Opening Night on October 14th against the Manchester Monarchs at the Tsongas Arena. Full season, 20-game, mini-plans and Flex Packs are now on sale. Make sure you get a commemorative Opening Night Lock Monsters T-shirt and book your group of 20 or more today. Contact the Lock Monsters ticket office at (978) 458-PUCK (7825) for remaining seat availability. Log on to www.lockmonsters.com for up-to-date information.
