Local Support Vital to Fighting Falcons

PORT HURON, MI - The Port Huron Fighting Falcons, who begin training camp for the 2013-14 season next week, have finished painting the ice at McMorran Arena. Along with their team name in large block letters around the center ice circle, logos of area businesses were also painted on the ice surface, by members of the Fighting Falcons' training camp roster themselves.
Operation of the junior A hockey team, which will begin its fourth season in the Blue Water Area this fall, would not be possible without the support of local businesses and advertising partners.
Many area businesses have been proud sponsors of hockey at McMorran Arena for years, and have continued their support with the Fighting Falcons.
The team offers many advertising packages, from banners and signs in the arena to radio commercials through their partnership with Radio First. Businesses can have their logo placed on the boards around the rink, the gameday programs the team provides to fans, and on the team's website.
Shaw Chiropractic has been a supporter of the Fighting Falcons since their inaugural season. Every time a puck has been fired out of play at a Fighting Falcons home game, a lucky fan has had the chance to take home a free souvenir with the team's logo on one side, and Shaw's on the other.
Dr. Shaw and Dr. Armbruster have also provided top-notch chiropractic care to Fighting Falcons players.
SEMCO will return as the official sponsor of one of McMorran Arena's Zambonis, which is seen during intermission night in and night out.
When the Fighting Falcons send pocket schedules out into the community in the next few weeks, Earl Smith Distributing will have their Bud Light advertisement on a panel for the fourth consecutive year.
"You don't have to look hard to see that we are getting a lot of support from this community," said Fighting Falcons Sales Manager Chris Landrith. "Every sign and banner you see at McMorran is proof of the support the Blue Water Area has given this organization. We're lucky to have such a strong base of businesses that want to keep the tradition of high-level hockey at McMorran Arena."
The Fighting Falcons will run feature articles about their sponsors throughout the 2013-14 season on their website.

The Fighting Falcons will hold a "Pick Your Seat Night" Wednesday, August 28 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. This free event gives new and existing season ticket holders the chance to win the first replica of the team's new jerseys, which will be unveiled that night. Autographed equipment and the chance to drop the ceremonial first puck at the home opener will also be given away during the event.
If 2,000 or more fans attend a Fighting Falcons game this season, one lucky ticket holder will win $2,000 from the team.
