Lizards Trade For Millon
July 12, 2007 - Major League Lacrosse (MLL)
New York Lizards News Release
Uniondale, NY (July 11, 2007) - The Long Island Lizards (4-3) of Major League Lacrosse pulled off a trade deadline deal with the Washington Bayhawks (4-4) that will bring veteran attackman Mark Millon to the Lizards for the remainder of the 2007 season.
Millon, the 2005 MLL Bud Light MVP, played in only 1 game for Washington this season, but is coming off another stellar offensive campaign in 2006 as he led the Bayhawks in points with 28 goals and 13 assists. In return for Millon the Lizards gave up a 2009 4th Round Collegiate Draft Pick and a 2009 4th Round Supplemental Draft Pick.
"Mark will add a wealth of experience and talent to an already potent offense," said Long Island Lizards General Manager Tim Kelly. "We think he can mix in with the players we already have to help us in the second half of the season."
Millon's lacrosse resume is second to none. In addition to being the 2005 MLL MVP, he was also named the 2002 and 2003 Warrior MLL Offensive Player of the Year and has tallied 235 goals in his 7 season in Major League Lacrosse. A two-time Team USA member, Mark was a three-time All-American At the University of Massachusetts.
The Lizards will head up to Rochester to take on the first place Rattlers at 7:30 PM this Saturday night. Long Island will then take on New Jersey in the Garden State before returning home on July 28th to battle the Denver Outlaws.
