Beginning at 11 a.m., Los Angeles Riptide players, staff and mascot Rippy on Saturday, July 14, are scheduled to make a visit to the Miller Children's Hospital at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center.
The team and Rippy will interact with patients in the hospital's play rooms where they will take part in fun and games, hand out Riptide prizes and take part in photo and autograph sessions. Miller Children's Hospital has been providing a complete range of primary and specialty care for children for more than 30 years. The hospital was established in 1970 at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center in recognition that, as hospital patients, children often have very different needs and requirements than adults. The 281-bed hospital cares for children of all ages, from newborns to young adults, as well as expectant mothers.
