
Lizards Fumble 8-0 First Half Lead, Fall to Barrage 13-12

Uniondale, NY -- The Philadelphia Barrage (5-0) defeated the Long Island Lizards (1-4), 13-12, in front of 4,787 fans at Mitchel Athletic Complex on Saturday afternoon. The Lizards led 8-0 after holding the undefeated Barrage scoreless for the first 17 minutes of the game, however, the Barrage went on an 8-1 run, cutting the score to 9-8 early in the second half. After the teams traded a few goals, Philadelphia scored the final three goals of the game, including a Roy Colsey two-pointer, to steal the win.
B.J. Prager's shot with 3:22 remaining gave Philadelphia a 13-12 lead, their first and only lead of the game, as it would become the eventual game-winner. Former Lizards goaltender Brian Dougherty was named Bud Light MVP with 20 saves. Matt Striebel led the Barrage with four goals and one assist, while Mike Springer scored three goals and three assists.
Long Island was led by Blake Miller, who scored six goals, with five in the first half. Austin Garrison scored two goals and one assist, while Stephen Berger scored two goals. Cattrano finished with 14 saves.
The Lizards hope to find their winning ways on the road, as they meet the Baltimore Bayhawks. The Lizards defeated the Bayhawks in their home opener before losing four straight.
