Columbus Lions News Release

The Lions bolstered their special teams today with the signing of former Boise State Bronco Tyler Rausa. Rausa will be brought on to take over kicking duties, a position of need on the Lions team.

Rausa graduated from Boise State where he accumulated many awards and recognitions as the Broncos kicker. Rausa was named to the Lou Groza Award Watchlist twice (2015 and 2016) and named a finalist for the award in 2016. The Lou Groza award is given t the nation's top kicker each season. Rausa also garnered All- Mountain West First Team Honors in 2015. Rausa holds the single season record on Boise State history with 25 field goals made and the Mountain West single-season record for points by a kicker with 134 points. That 134 points was also good for second in the nation.

Rausa will be welcomed with open arms to the Lions and will look to bring that same success to the NAL.

The Lions will be home this Saturday as they take on the Massachusetts Pirates. Gates open at 6 pm and Tickets are available at columbuslions.net and at the Civic Center.
