Lions Kick off National School Breakfast Week with Wacoochee Elementary

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and schools supply millions of breakfasts to hungry children through the federal School Breakfast Program.
The Columbus Lions helped spread the word.
Lions kicker AJ Wells and fullback Kamryn Pettway joined Leo the Lion to kick off National School Breakfast Week with the kids at Wacoochee Elementary early this morning in Lee County.
Leo, along with AJ and Kamryn, visited throughout the morning with various groups of children. Leo engaged in multiple dance competitions with the crowd before taking over the serving line from cafeteria manager Cathy Tomblin.
National School Breakfast Week takes place March 2-6 to increase awareness about the healthy choices available for school breakfast. It is an annual opportunity to increase participation and interest in the school's breakfast programs.
