Lions Face Stiff Test on the Road against Massachusetts

June 16, 2018 - National Arena League (NAL)
Columbus Lions News Release

The stretch run begins right now for the Columbus Lions. It will be a grueling schedule the rest of the way, as the Lions look to try and clinch home-field advantage. The Lions start this pivotal two- week road trip against the Massachusetts Pirates. The Pirates sit right below the Lions in the NAL standings, with a record of 6-3.

The Lions will look to continue their dominant work on the offensive side of the ball. The Lions enter this game after a drubbing of the Maine Mammoths 55-34 last Saturday. Quayvon hicks has a been a force for the Lions this season. Hicks racked up two touchdowns last time these teams faced off in what was a loss for the Lions. The defense will also be key. Turnovers were huge last week, and the Lions will need some big, momentum changing plays. Tyler Stephenson will be a guy to look out for as he had an amazing one-handed interception last week that kept the Mammoths from scoring.

Columbus will be looking for revenge when they enter the DCU Center on Saturday. This game has major implications for both teams and is very pivotal for the Lions playoff chances and quest to clinch home-field advantage. A balanced attack will be key for the Lions to come home with a win.

The game will be streamed on YouTube, live at 7pm EST.
