Lions Continue to Bolster Defense
The Columbus Lions have signed Freshad Hunter to help bulk up the defensive line. Hunter, a highly touted recruit straight out of high school from Cary, North Carolina, had 105 total tackles and six sacks at Cary High School. Hunter got looks from NC State, LSU, South Carolina and Tennessee but would end up at Georgia Military College where in his freshman season he caused mayhem in the backfield with 15 sacks.
Hunter would finish his career at Shaw University where he appeared in 14 games with eight solo tackles. "We are looking for guys that are hungry with something to prove, can't wait to get him in pads and cut him loose." The Columbus Lions open the season Friday, April 17th at home against the defending NAL Champions the Jacksonville Sharks.
