Orlando City SC News Release

ORLANDO - Orlando City's long and winding road trip comes to an end this weekend as the Lions visit the Pittsburgh Riverhounds on Friday and the Rochester Rhinos on Sunday. Both matches kick off at 7 pm. Only the Rochester match will be broadcast on USLLive.com.

The Lions come into the weekend slate riding a three-match unbeaten streak in USL PRO play. Last weekend, City defeated division rivals Antigua Barracuda FC in two matches by a combined 5-2 scoreline. The Lions are the first USL PRO club to defeat Antigua in two consecutive road matches.

Orlando's first opponent, the Pittsburgh Riverhounds, even the match off a 1-1-0 weekend. After dropping a 2-0 result to Charlotte on Friday, the Hounds rebounded to defeat the Charleston Battery 2-0 the following day. The Hounds sit in fifth place in the National Division, with a 3-9-3 record. The last time the Lions and Hounds faced off, Orlando City came out on top 1-0.

The Lions follow Friday's game with a Sunday clash against National Division leaders Rochester. The Rhinos sit at 7-4-3 on the season, coming off an undefeated June. A large part of the Lions success comes from their defense which currently boasts the second lowest goals allowed total in USL PRO at 11. The Lions played the Rhinos during their last Northeast swing, battling to a scoreless draw in a largely defensive game.

The Orlando City roster gets a boost on this road trip with the addition of Michael Tetteh. Tetteh joins the club on loan from Major League Soccer's Seattle Sounders FC. The versatile midfielder adds depth to the Lion roster at a time when several players need rest after a grueling four matches in eight day stretch.

After the weekend trip, the Lions return to Orlando for rematch with the Dayton Dutch Lions on July 8th. Close on the heels of these matches are the Lions impending freindlies against English Premier League sides Bolton Wanderers on July 17th and Newcastle United on July 23rd. Tickets for both matches are still available and start at just $25. For more information, call 855-ORL- CITY today!
