Lincoln Capitols Up Next

June 7, 2006 - National Indoor Football League (NIFL) - RiverCity Rage News Release

St. Louis, June 7, 2006-The RiverCity Rage will aim to add onto their (9-1) record Friday at Savvis Center. The RiverCity Rage with an overall record of (9-1) are set to unleash the fury in week 14 of the NIFL season as they host the (0-10) Lincoln Capitols.

A lot is at stake for the Rage in the contest. After defeating the Bulldogs of Dayton on May 26, at Savvis, the Rage secured a spot in the playoffs. Now against the Lincoln Capitols, they will look at securing the Atlantic Conference North Division Title.

Lincoln has not played a game since week 11 when they were defeated by Tri-Cities Fever 117-6.

RiverCity had last week off, after the Palm Beach Phantoms were forced to forfeit due to not being able to provide a venue for the contest.

This game will prove a lot about the mindframe of the Rage players, "Lincoln has nothing to lose going into a game like this, but they have everything to gain by picking up the 'W.' It is important for us to prepare for Lincoln as if we were playing Lakeland, nothing in our practices will be any different," said Rage Head Coach Mike Wyatt, about the intensity of the Rage. Wyatt also went on to comment about the Capitols saying, "This will be more like a basketball game, where you worry more about your own game and don't let yourself get in the way of a 'W'."

Because Lincoln has given up over 100 points twice this season, spectators might be thinking they'll see second team players, but they shouldn't count on it, "This game gives us a chance to prepare for the playoffs. You have to play your best players at all times. At any given time on the field, five of the players will have to be first team players," said Wyatt.

Game time is set for 7 p.m. on Friday, June 9 at Savvis Center in downtown St. Louis, MO.

PROMOTIONS FOR THE NIGHT

Military personnel, who present their Military ID at Savvis Center, will be given free admission good for Club Level or General Admission seating. Family members of military personnel who would like to come to the game will need to pay regular price for their ticket.

The Rage along with Eagle Bank and Trust will be giving away checkbook covers to the first 1,500 fans. 20 fans will also have the opportunity to participate in a "Dash for Cash." Each fan will be given time to run around the field and collect as many $1.00 bills as possible. After the time is done, fans will be given a check for the total amount collected.

Along with Majestic Travel, Super Clubs and Funjet. The Rage will be giving away a trip to the Star Fish Resort.

This game will also be Christian Family Night with the Rage.
