MATCH SUMMARY:

Lights FC kicked off the sixth season in franchise history by visiting the RGV FC Toros, in the first of six consecutive USL Championship road games for Las Vegas.

The Lights took an early lead in the 4th minute with an own goal from Taylor Davila off of a free kick executed by Tyler Bagley.

After a back and forth first half, RGV tied the game with a curling strike from outside the box courtesy of Ricky Ruiz in added time.

MLS and Liga MX veteran Erick "Cubo" Torres made his Lights FC debut by being subbed into the game in the 76th minute of the game.

This game marked the fourth time in franchise history that Lights FC kicked off a season by getting at least a point during their season opener, with three of those games being on the road.

SCORING SUMMARY:

1-0 Las Vegas - Taylor Davila (own goal) - 4th minute

1-1 Rio Grande Valley - Ricky Ruiz - 45+3 minute

NEXT GAME:

Lights FC will visit Orange County SC on Saturday, March 25th with kickoff set for 7 p.m. PT

NEXT HOME GAME:

Las Vegas will play their first regular season home game of the year on Friday, Cinco de Mayo at 7:30 p.m. against the Charleston Battery at Cashman Field.

Before that match, the Lights will host a second round matchup of the US Open Cup on Wednesday, April 5th by taking on the L.A. Force. This contest will take place at UNLV's Peter Johann Soccer Field, starting at 7 p.m.
