Lights FC Closes Homestand by Hosting Hartford Athletic

Lights FC concluded a three-game homestand by hosting Hartford Athletic from the Eastern Conference.

The Athletic opened the score when a rebound landed in front of Juan Pablo Torres, whose shot ended up being deflected by Timothie Zali for the ball to get past goalkeeper Leo Diaz in the 23rd minute.

Both teams provided an entertaining first half for the fans at Cashman Field, registering four shots on target each with Hartford edging out Las Vegas in total shots eight to seven. The visiting side went into the halftime break with a 1-0 lead.

Lights FC controlled possession of the ball for more than 67% of the second half, with Hartford not registering a shot in the first 27 minutes of it, but despite registering a total of 15 corner kicks and 22 shots in the match, Las Vegas wasn't able to find the back of the net and suffered a 2-0 defeat, with Hartford scoring in the 82nd minute courtesy of Kyle Edwards.

NEXT GAME:

After going 13 consecutive days without a match, Lights FC will now play their second game in a five-day span as they'll visit the Oakland Roots' on Wednesday night at Pioneer Stadium in Hayward, California.

NEXT HOME GAME:

Las Vegas returns to Cashman Field next Saturday to continue a streak of four consecutive weekends playing at home to host Sacramento Republic, who currently hold the best record in USL Championship's Western Conference. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
