Lightning Remain Undefeated Against Rainmen

January 27, 2012 - National Basketball League of Canada (NBL Canada) - London Lightning News Release

One vs. Two. Coming in, London had never lost back to back games. Halifax had never beaten London. Both teams lost last night. One team finishes the day with another loss on their record. Before 3,186 fans at the Halifax Metro Centre, the game produced a 100-97 winner in London's favour.

"We were able to take advantage of our guards and played great defense," explained Lightning Coach Michael Ray Richardson on his teams important victory tonight. " We ran our offense and played ball in the last quarter like we were champions."

Interestingly, both teams had a roughly seven point differential in points scored to points allowed averaged on the season. London has the best points allowed average to opposing teams at just over 93 per game. Tonight, it was DeAnthony Bowden and Shawn Daniels pouring the points for the Lightning with 18 and 17 respectively.

London returns home and takes on Saint John next. That game, a potential first round play-off opponent, tips at 2PM on Sunday.
