Lightning Recognized for af2 Yearbook Honors

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Lightning has been awarded co-runner-up honors for "Publication of the Year" in the arenafootball2 league's "Best Team" awards, the Lightning announced today in conjunction with the af2.

The Lightning game-day publication, edited by Lightning director of communications Brenda Bryant, totals 80 pages in length which features player bios, coach bios, and "Shockwave" dance team photos from the inaugural season roster, an in-depth look at the rules of the af2, a 2005 season recap with an extensive summary of ArenaCup 2005, and a pictorial recaps of Lightning FanFest 2006, pre-season tryout camp, and more.

The Lightning 2006 Inaugural Season Yearbook is currently on-sale for $5, and can be purchased by calling the Lightning team offices at (209) 373-1500.

The Macon Knights 2006 media guide was awarded Publication of the Year, while the Lightning shares co-runner-up honors with the Spokane Shock 2006 yearbook/program. Complete listings of the arenafootball2 "Best Team" awards can be found at www.af2.com.

The honor caps off notable af2 post-season recognition for Stockton, with OS Atnas Maeko awarded Gridiron Enterprises International Player of the Year and National Conference All-af2 Second Team honors, while WR/DB Kenyatte Morgan was awarded National Conference All-af2 First Team honors.

The Lightning finished with a 5-11 overall record in their inaugural 2006 arenafootball2 season and ranked third in af2 attendance with an average of 7,445 fans per home game.
