Liberty Tip-Off the Post-Season Against Indiana Fever on Thursday

NEW YORK, NY [September 12, 2011] - The New York Liberty yesterday secured the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference and will face the first seeded Indiana Fever in the 2011 WNBA Eastern Conference Semifinals beginning on Thursday, September 15 in Indiana. The Liberty completed the regular season with a 19-15 record, and enter the playoffs as winners of six of their past 10 games. This will mark the Liberty's 11th post-season campaign.

The Liberty split the series 2-2 with Indiana during the regular season. This is the second year in a row that the Liberty has met Indiana in the first round of the playoffs. In 2010 the Liberty won the series 2-1 and advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals where they met the Atlanta Dream.

The Liberty will host a Fan Fest prior to the game on Saturday at Championship Plaza directly across from Prudential Center beginning at 1:00pm. The Fan Fest will include face painters, balloon makers, a DJ, dance teams, Maddie, the Knicks Groove Truck and the Liberty Cruiser.

New York Liberty home games are played at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey for the 2011 playoffs, and the 2012 and 2013 seasons while Madison Square Garden undergoes a comprehensive, top-to-bottom Transformation. Prudential Center is a convenient 15 minutes away from The Garden by train.
