In front of a sellout crowd of 10,009 on Tuesday, the New York Liberty defeated the Connecticut Sun, 84-77, in Game 2 of their 2023 WNBA Semifinals series, tying the best-of-five series at one game apiece.

At Barclays Center, the Liberty finished on 44.6% (29-65) shooting from the field, 38.5% (10-26) from three, and 100% (16-16) at the free throw line.

Tonight, five Liberty players scored in double figures. This is the seventh time in franchise history that New York has finished a postseason contest with five double-digit scorers and the first time since September 24, 2016.

Q1: Connecticut went on a 13-2 run from the 3:23 mark of the first to the 0:37 mark of the opening quarter. Q2: Connecticut extended their first-quarter run into the second, totaling a 23-9 run through the 6:19 mark of the quarter. New York responded with an 18-7 run from the 6:50 mark of the second to the 0:59 mark of the quarter. Q3: New York went on an 11-0 run from the 7:17 mark of the third to the 4:14 mark of the quarter. Q4: New York went on a 10-2 run from the 8:40 mark of the fourth to the 7:06 mark of the final quarter.

PLAYER NOTABLES New York finished with five double-digit scorers in tonight's game (Ionescu, Laney, Vandersloot, Jones, Stewart).

Sabrina Ionescu finished with a team-high 21 points on 41.7% (5-12) shooting from the field, 100% (10-10) from the free throw line, five assists, and two rebounds. Her 10 made free throws without a miss tied the Liberty single-game postseason record.

Betnijah Laney finished with 20 points on 63.6% (7-11) shooting from the field, including 71.4% (5-7) from deep, four rebounds, and three assists. Her five three-pointers set a new postseason career-high.

Courtney Vandersloot totaled 19 points on 61.5% shooting from the field, including 75% (3-4) from deep, four assists, three rebounds, and a postseason career-high-tying two blocks.

Highlighted by nine first-quarter points, including the Liberty's first seven of the contest, Jonquel Jones finished with 11 points on 41.7% (5-12) shooting from the field, a game-high 13 rebounds, and a pair of assists.

Tonight's performance marked the 14th double-double of her postseason career and her league-leading fourth double-double of the 2023 postseason. Jonquel has now recorded a double-double in all four of the Liberty's games this postseason.

The 2023 Kia WNBA Most Valuable Player, Breanna Stewart, added 11 points, 11 rebounds, five assists, and a postseason career-high five blocks, notching the seventh double-double of her postseason career. Her five blocks set a franchise single-game postseason record.

For Connecticut, Tiffany Hayes finished with a game-high 30 points, three rebounds, and two assists, while DeWanna Bonner added 19 points, seven rebounds, and four assists.
