Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
The 2014 IronRail Series continues, as the IronPigs (40-44) play the finale of a two-game road series against the North's fifth-place Scranton/WB RailRiders (40-43) at PNC Field... With a 9-7 win last night, the Pigs snapped a three-game losing streak and improved their lead in the IronRail series, 7-4. Still, Lehigh Valley has dropped seven of its last nine contests and, since May 30, has gone just 11-19, falling from second place and 0.5 GB in the North to sixth place and a season-high 11.0 GB... Scranton/WB -- the Yankees' top affiliate -- had its three-game winning streak snapped. Despite winning four of their last six affairs, the RailRiders have gone just 12-17 since June 1.
LHP Greg Smith (6-5, 4.03) will start for LHV against RHP Alfredo Aceves (0-0, 3.13).
First-Pitch tonight is at 7:05 p.m... The Pigs will next return home for a two-game series against the first-place Syracuse Chiefs (51-33).
