American Defenders of New Hampshire News Release

(Nashua, NH, June 5) Nashua Pride officials announced today that LHP Jon Connolly's contract was sold to the Detroit Tigers.

Connolly started one game for the Pride this season and pitched seven innings while giving up one earned run and two hits in the win. The Oneonta, NY native was selected by Detroit in the 28th round of the 2001 draft and is now headed back to the Tigers organization. He will be reporting to the Lakeland Tigers of the Class A Advanced Florida State League.

"My goal was to come here and make four or five starts in Nashua and then hopefully get signed by a Major League club. The Nashua fans were great to me and it was a fun stadium. I enjoyed playing for Butch (Hobson) and Jay (Yennaco) and I will miss all the guys in the clubhouse," reacts Connolly.

The Pride will play the Brockton Rox tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m. with the special appearance by William "Too Good for American Idol" Hung. Battle of the Bullpen Karaoke contest will feature Hung as a judge and don't forget that tomorrow is the season's inaugural Ladies Night with each lady receiving a buy one get one free deal on all tickets purchased at regular price.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with Hung signing autographs from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and then performing three times during the night before judging the Battle of the Bullpen Karaoke contest. Hung will return to Historic Holman Stadium for Wednesday's early game starting at 11:05 a.m. with autographs starting at 10:05 a.m.

The Nashua Pride, entering their first year of play in the Canadian American Association of Professional Baseball, play their home games at Historic Holman Stadium. Prior to joining the Can-Am League, the Pride played for eight seasons in the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, winning the 2000 Atlantic League championship.
