New Jersey's Isaac Pavlik pitched nine shutout innings, striking out eight and allowing only five hits to help the Jackals past Quebec 3-1. Pavlik improved to 2-0 on the season. DH John Lindsey and C Jason Belcher both homered for New Jersey and combined to drive in two of the Jackals' three runs. 3B Wilton Veras drove in the third New Jersey run on his only hit of the game. Veras went 1-for-4 with a double and scored a run. Quebec's lone run came in the bottom of the first inning thanks to CF Geoffrey Tomlinson's RBI double. Tomlinson went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the team in hits.

Quebec took advantage of three New Jersey errors to avoid the doubleheader sweep and take game two, 3-1. Starting pitcher Gabe Ribas picked up the win for the Capitales, pitching six innings, allowing no earned runs on four hits. Relief pitcher Christian Mendoza notched his third save of the season by striking out all three batters he faced in the seventh inning. 2B Dany Scalabrini had two hits to lead Quebec at the plate. 3B Wilton Veras went 1-for-3 and scored New Jersey's lone run in the losing effort.
