Lewiston MAINEiacs News Release

Lewiston, ME - The MAINEiacs reached the 20 win threshold on Sunday afternoon. The Lewiston MAINEiacs defeated the Victoriaville Tigres 4-2 at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee. With Baie-Comeau, Val-d'Or, and Halifax all losing their matchups tonight, the MAINEiacs increase their chances of grabbing the last spot in the 2009 President Cup playoffs.

The MAINEiacs grabbed the lead in the first period with a power play goal by Max Gratchev and never looked back. Lewiston forwards Alex Beaton, Pierre Oliver Morin, and Billy Lacasse also piled on goals for the home team. Victoriaville's Chad Earle and Jonathan Bonneau scored for the Tigres, but it wasn't enough to stop the win thirsty MAINEiacs.

Adrien Lemay earned a win for himself stopping 29 Victoriaville shots. The three stars of the game were 1) Max Gratchev (LEW), 2) Alex Beaton (LEW), and 3) Chad Earle (VIC).

The MAINEiacs will head out on the road on Thursday for their final road trip of the regular season with stops in Gatineau and Montreal.
