Penn FC News Release

Harrisburg, PA - Again, City Islanders FC Dante Leverock has been selected to represent the Bermudian National Team. The 24-year old defensemen was called on by the team back in March, making this his second appearance with Bermuda during the 2016 USL season. Leverock will represent the team once more in the second round qualifying stage of the Scotiabank Men's Caribbean Cup this week.

The Bermudian National Team was set to face French Guiana on June 1st until an inclement weather delay caused the match to be postponed to a later date. Nonetheless, the team will continue their season and face the Dominican Republic at home on Saturday, June 4th, before Leverock returns to the States to continue his season with the City Islanders.

This will not be Leverock's first stint at the international level. Last year he played with his native team in four FIFA World Cup Qualifiers for the 2018 contest. In those four games he had scored one goal.

Bermuda is in group three of the Caribbean Cup along with Cuba and French Guiana. The tournament plays host up to 21 teams who are vying for the CFU title along with qualification into the CONCACAF Gold Cup.

Leverock is a third of the way through his second season as an Islander and has served a vital role in the club's defense. In 2015, he amassed 1700 minutes in 22 appearances for the Islanders while scoring three goals.

Even though last year was Leverock's first foray into professional soccer, it was not his first experience with playing in Harrisburg. In 2005, he traveled from Bermuda to be apart of the City Islanders' Youth Academy under Dennis Clarke. After graduating from college in 2014 he played some time with the Baltimore Blast before signing with the Islanders Professional Team.
