Lemurs Win Big Over Airhogs

Laredo, TX - The Laredo Lemurs (38-41) pick up 13 runs on 14 hits as they go one to beat the first place Grand Prairie Airhogs (44-36) 13-5 Saturday night at Uni-Trade Stadium.

The Lemurs offense was led by Palmer Karr Jr. and Stephen Pearson, with both of them picking up three hits in the game. Karr went three for five with two singles, a homerun, two runs scored, and two RBI's. Karr has now hit in 15 straight games for the Lemurs going back to July 28th. Pearson went three for four, with a single, a double, a triple, three runs, and an RBI.

All the Lemurs in the batting order picked up hits except Uraik Marquez, with six of the nine batters grabbing at least one RBI.

Ryan Sasaki (4-2) picked up the win for the Lemurs, as he went five and a third, giving up five runs, on nine hits with four strikeouts. The only runs that the Airhogs scored came via the homerun. There was a three run homerun off the bat of Kenny held in the second, and a two run homerun that Trent Lockwood launched in the sixth. Lockwood has hit five homeruns against the Lemurs this year, three of them coming at Uni-Trade Stadium.

Nick DeBarr (12-5) took the loss for the Airhogs as he went five complete, giving up eight runs, on eight hits, three walks, and two strikeouts. Coming into tonight's game, Debarr was 5-0 against the Lemurs with a 2.16 ERA.

With the win the Lemurs are now five and half games back in the American Association South Division with 21 games left to play.
