Bismarck, ND (December 18, 2010) - In a game of runs, the Dakota Wizards used the largest one of the evening to defeat the Texas Legends for the second night in a row 101-95 at the Bismarck Civic Center on Saturday night.

The Wizards outscored the Legends 8-1 to finish the third quarter and continued the momentum with a 12-0 run to start the fourth and take their largest lead of the game at 14.

The Legends got out to a quick 11-3 lead to start the game, but the Wizards came firing back on a 19-5 run of their own to go up by six. Despite tying the game late in the first half at 45, Dakota would end the half scoring five straight points over the final minute and go into the break on top 50-45.

Trailing by four just over two minutes into the second half, the Legends used a 13-4 spurt to take a five-point lead of their own. Texas would maintain that lead until the final minutes of the third quarter when Dakota turned up the tempo, went on the big run and took a demanding lead, which they would not relinquish.

Down 14 with eight minutes to go in the game, the Legends would go on an 14-4 burst and get within four points, but Vernon Hamilton would hit three-pointer's on back-to-back possessions to put the game out of reach for Texas.

Sean Willaims had a dominant game in a losing effort with a team-high 23 points and 14 rebounds, while Hamilton led all scorers with 24.

For the first time in franchise history the Legends failed to score in triple digits and they shot just 43.3% from the field.

The loss drops the Legends to 6-5 on the season, while the Wizards improved to 3-9. For the first time in franchise history the Legends have now lost three games in a row.

The Legends now have over a week off to regroup before getting back into action with a home-and-home series with Rio Grande Valley. The first game is next Sunday afternoon at Rio Grande Valley with a 3:00 p.m. tip-off, and the second is on Monday night at 7:00 p.m. at HP Court inside Dr Pepper Arena.
