Lee Nailon signs with the Hornets

GARY, IN: The New Orleans Hornets announced today the signing of former Gary Steelhead Lee Nailon. Per team policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Nailon, a 6-9, 240 lb forward from TCU, played three games for the Steelheads last season before he was called up by the Cleveland Cavaliers on March 3rd. Nailon averaged 22.3 points and 10 rebounds over his three game stretch with the Steelheads. His best game for the Steelheads was a 39 point, 16 rebound explosion against the 2003-2004 CBA Champion Dakota Wizards.

Nailon played two seasons with the Hornets (2000-01 and 2001-02), averaging 8.4 points and 3.2 rebounds in 121 games. The 6-8 forward averaged 15.0 points and 5.0 rebounds in 41 games as a starter in 2001-02. Nailon spent the 2002-03 season with New York, where he averaged 5.5 points in 38 games, and split time with Atlanta, Orlando and Cleveland last season, averaging 6.0 points and 2.5 rebounds in a total of 57 games.

The Steelheads open their fifth season of play on November 20th at home in the Genesis Convention Center, as they take on the Rockford Lightning. Good seats are still available.
