Leading Scorer Returns to Inferno

COLUMBIA, S.C. (June 28, 2007) - Head Coach Troy Mann announced that the Columbia Inferno have agreed to terms with center Jeff Miles for the 2007-08 season. Miles becomes the second player signed by the Inferno this season.

Miles, 6'0", 190 lbs., Pickering, Ontario native appeared in 66 games last season for Columbia , netting 28 goals and 42 assists for 70 points. He spent some time with the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League skating in six games for two points (1g-1a). During the 2005-06 season, Miles was traded to Columbia from Utah and played in 19 games scoring 23 points (9g-14a).

"Jeff is an elite player at our level and is an outstanding signing for us. I'm excited that Jeff has decided to stay in Columbia and help us reach our goals as an organization," said Coach Mann. "He has consistently produced a point a game at this level and will be heavily depended on in an offensive role this season."

During the 2004-05 season, he played for the Reading Royals scoring 19 goals and 19 assists for 38 points in 37 games. He also skated in 28 games for the Manchester Monarchs of the AHL with five goals and one assist. He played his collegiate career with the University of Vermont from 2000-2004. He played in 132 games, scoring 45 goals, 82 assists for 127 points.
