
Chiefs Agree To Terms With Desrochers

Johnstown, PA (June 28, 2007)-The Johnstown Chiefs announced today that they have agreed to terms with center Jean Desrochers to return for the 20th anniversary season. He is the first player to agree to terms with the Chiefs this off season.
The Dalhousie, Quebec native and Clarkson University product has spent the last three seasons in Johnstown. Last year he tied for second on the team in scoring, with 17 goals and 21 assists in 54 games. As a rookie in 2004-05, he was selected to the ECHL American Conference all-star team.
"Jean is a quality player and person who will bring experience and leadership to our team," stated Chiefs first year head coach, Ian Herbers.
Last season Desrochers split time between the Chiefs and their AHL affiliate Springfield Falcons. In all, Desrochers has tallied 55 goals and 78 assists in 198 career games with the Chiefs. Last season he returned to the Chiefs in time to lead the team in playoff scoring, tallying one goal and two assists in two Kelly Cup playoff games.
The Chiefs kick off their 20th-anniversary season Oct. 18 at home vs. Wheeling.
