The Clearwater Threshers fell in the series finale of a four-game set with the Daytona Cubs, 5-4 on Thursday night.

Clearwater (27-33) was down 5-2 heading into the ninth inning, and scored twice with two outs on a Gabriel Lino two-run homer. Angelo Mora followed with a walk and Roman Quinn then singled, but a flyout by Jesmuel Valentin ended the game with the tying run at second.

Lino finished 2-for-4 with three RBI's and a run scored.

Jordan Guth got the start for the Threshers and was charged with the loss. Guth (3-4) lasted six innings and surrendered four runs on six hits while striking out one and walking five.

Down 1-0 in the bottom of the fifth, Daytona (33-25) rallied for three runs off of Guth to take a 3-1 lead. Bijan Rademacher and Jacob Hannemann each homered in the inning off the Threshers' right-hander.

Rob Zastryzny was solid on the mound for the Cubs, tossing seven innings and giving up two runs - one earned - while striking out five.

In the eighth inning, Cubs first-round pick Kyle Schwarber homered to give Daytona an extra insurance run and it turned out to be the game winner.

Game one of the twin bill starts at 5:00 p.m. Colin Kleven gets the start for Clearwater while Taylor Williams goes for the Manatees. Coverage begins at 4:45 p.m. on threshersbaseball.com.
