Charlotte Eagles Summer Camps are underway and we are spotlighting two of the particluar camps we are offering this summer!

The "Boy's Elite" camp will be held at Elon Park, July 8-12. The Elite camp is divided into three segments: Finishing, 101 Moves/Skills, and Goalkeeping. Each segment is taught by Charlotte Eagles players who have excelled at the highest level in these areas. When registering, players will have the opportunity to choose which segment they would like to focus on that week. The ages for the Elite program is 8-17 years old. This camp is certain to give youth club and school soccer players an extra edge in their off-season training.

Some Eagles players who will be serving as coaches at the Elite Camp will be Stephen Okai, Alonso Jimenez and camp director Brady Bryant.

Stephen Okai joined the Eagles after playing of college soccer at the University of Mobile. Okai won the National Player of the Year award in NAIA and was a three-time All-American. During his time at college, Okai also played for USL PDL club Des Moines Menace in 2010, and Reading United A.C. in 2011 and 2012. The native of Ghana joined the Eagles prior to the 2013 USL PRO season.

Alonso Jimenez was born in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico and attended Odessa High School in Odessa, Texas. Jimenez earned First Team All-District honors in each of his four seasons and was named the District's Most Valuable Player as a junior and senior. He capped his Broncos career by being named All-State as a senior.He also played for Mexican First Division side Indios de Juarez for three seasons before being signed by USL PDL side the West Texas Sockers. Jimenez played with current teammate Sergio Villasenor when they were both at Indios de Juarez.

Brady Bryant was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota where his dad, Bobby Bryant, was a defensive back for the Minnesota Vikings. He would play one season of college soccer at The Citadel before transferring to the University of Mobile where he would earn Honorable Mention All-American in 2002.Following his collegiate career Bryant signed with the Wilmington Hammerheads in 2004. He played three seasons with the Hammerheads before trying his hand at football with the Columbia Stingers of the National Indoor Football League. In 2008 he returned to soccer and signed with the Charlotte Eagles. Bryant was named First Team All-USL2 in 2008 and has scored four goals in his Eagles career.

There is also an "All-Girls" camp that will be led and coached by all Lady Eagles players. This camp will be held at Warner Park located off Matthews Township Parkway in Matthews, NC.

The Lady Eagles who will be leading this particular camp will be Allison Braun, Macky Wingo and director Leah Fortune.

Alison Braun is a Lexington, Kentucky native and plays collegiately at Lee University. Her first year at Lee University she helped them win a National Championship title. The 2013 season is her first year playing with the Lady Eagles.

Erin "Macky" Wingo is a former UNC Charlotte 49er from Raleigh, NC. She is in her third season playing for the Lady Eagles and is currently leading this year's Lady Eagle team in scoring with five goals and one assist in eight games played.

Leah Fortune was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil and grew up in Wheaton, Illinois. She started her collegiate career at the University of Texas before transferring to Lee University. She won the NAIA National Championship in 2011. She is currently second on the team in scoring behind Wingo with two goals and two assists in eight games.
