Last Chance to Nominate Johnstown for Kraft Hockeyville

JOHNSTOWN, PA - With just over a week remaining before the March 18 deadline for nominations in the 2015 Kraft Hockeyville contest, the Johnstown Hockeyville committee is making a final push for nominations.
To date, Johnstown is one of the leading cities in the competition, with over 1,000 entries submitted by both local supporters and supporters from around the United States. Through the use of the official Johnstown Hockeyville Facebook and Twitter pages, supporters have also shared photos, videos, and stories showing the passion and community pride in the Johnstown area.
Numerous businesses have also held events and rallies to encourage nominations and promote Johnstown's bid to become Kraft Hockeyville.
Those who have not submitted their nominations have until March 18 at 11:59 p.m. EST to do so. Upon registering at KraftHockeyville.com, individuals can nominate a community and rink of their choice by submitting a brief written explanation (approximately 400 words or less) and optional photograph demonstrating why their community is the most passionate hockey community in the United States. After the nomination deadline passes, a panel of judges will determine the ten communities to advance to the next stage of the contest, using passion for hockey, community pride, and creativity/originality as the main criteria.
The first of three voting rounds will then commence April 14, during which communities will compete to garner the most amount of votes to advance towards the Kraft Hockeyville title. Votes will be able to be cast by text messages, phone calls, or online clicks atKraftHockeyville.com.
The winning community will receive $150,000 in rink upgrades, plus the chance to host an NHL preseason game. All communities advancing to the voting round will receive at least $20,000 towards rink upgrades.
