
Amarillo Bulls Game Preview at Wichita Falls

WICHITA FALLS, TX - The Amarillo Bulls hope to take advantage of one of the biggest game's in hand of the season on Wednesday night when they visit the Wichita Falls Wildcats at 7 pm at Kay Yeager Coliseum.
Just eight games remain in the Bulls regular season schedule and they trail both the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees and the Wenatchee Wild by just five points for a playoff spot in the South Division. The Wild are placed fifth due to one more win that the Killer Bees in sixth. The Bulls have a key weekend home stand with Wenatchee beginning on Friday night.
There have been ten previous meetings between the Bulls and the Wildcats that Amarillo has taken just two of them.
All of the games that have taken place in Wichita Falls have been decided by three goals or less.
Goaltender Anton Martinsson has been on a hot streak in recent games post three consecutive victories and chosen as the South Division Player of the Week. Martinsson has allowed just six goals.
But it's Jacob Weatherly that has had the biggest success against the Wildcats posting both of the wins. The Bulls are 3-2 in their last five while Wichita Falls have five points (4-0-1) and no losses in regulation.
Special teams will be important in the game as the Wildcats have the league's best power play, but both teams have done well shorthanded combining for 13 goals. The Wildcats have 23 home ice wins and haven't suffered a regulation loss since late January. The Bulls are 2-3-1 in their last six road games.

This Friday and Saturday the Budweiser Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center will be the site of two key and important South Division games featuring the Amarillo Bulls and the Wenatchee Wild. It's the first ever trip to Wenatchee to the Texas Panhandle. Both games face off at 7 pm. Friday is Texas Plains Federal Credit Union Night featuring the Family Four Pack with four tickets for $44 as well as Monster Inc characters for pictures prior to the game. Saturday is sponsored by Marble Depot and there will be noisemakers given out at the door.
