Larson Scores Twice but Not Enough Against Former Mates

The Youngstown Eagles begin their latest road trip on the wrong foot as they lose to the Colorado Eagles 5-2 on Wednesday night. The Eagles got things going early with Riley Nelson's 26th goal of the season, this on the power play to make it 1-0 Colorado after one period.

The second period started just as bad as Les Borsheim recorded his third of the season at the 8:41 mark to make it 2-0 Eagles. That did not last long as former Colorado Eagle Garrett Larson scored his first of two on the night to make it 2-1 after 40 minutes of play.

The third period remains the Hounds Achilles heel as Colorado scored three goals, two from Ryan Tobler to put the game out of reach. Garrett Larson recorded his second of the night with four minutes to play but it was too little too late as the Eagles held on for a 5-2 victory.

The loss for the Hounds makes them 0-5-0 lifetime against Colorado and 18-14-8 overall. The Hounds continue their road trip tomorrow night at 9:05pm when they are at the Rocky Mountain Rage.
