Lapa Scores Twice as 901 FC Knocks off Birmingham Legion

Birmingham, ALA. - Memphis 901 FC used two goals from Bruno Lapa to deliver 3-0 victory over rival Birmingham Legion FC on Saturday night at Protective Stadium.
Memphis went ahead early as two former Birmingham players in Marlon Santos and Lapa connected for a cross and goal from the middle of the box in the first five minutes of the match.
Lucas Turci doubled the score in the 17th minute with a strong left footed strike from outside the box to beat the keeper. Lapa delivered the cross before Turci finished in the bottom left corner.
Lapa deliver the dagger for his second goal of the night in the 54th minute. Lapa took advantage of a breakaway counterattack to beat the keeper and put the game away early.
Goalkeeper Tyler Deric tallied his first clean sheet shutout with Memphis 901 FC as the club moved to 2-5-0 on the season.
Memphis 901 FC returns home on Saturday, May 4 as they host Tampa Bay Rowdies on Star Wars Day at AutoZone Park. Tickets for the 3 p.m. CT kickoff are available on the clubs official website.
