(Rochester, NY) "" The Rochester Lancers will kick off the Major Arena Soccer League's "second season" on Thursday, March 5th when they host the Syracuse Silver Knights in the Eastern Division Semifinals at the War Memorial at the Blue Cross Arena. The match is slated for a 7:05 p.m. kickoff. The two teams will then travel down I-90 for the second leg of the series in Syracuse at 4:00 p.m. at the OnCenter on Sunday, March 8th. A mini-game between the two teams will be played on Sunday in the event the two teams split the two game series.
The first 1,000 fans attending Thursday's game will receive a free Sack Pack courtesy of Mr. Glass. Halftime will also feature a car giveaway courtesy of the Ide Family of Dealerships.
The 2014-15 season was a successful one for the Lancers under first-year head coach Doug Miller. Under Miller the Lancers played their way to a 10-10 record, their first non-losing season in franchise history. Their play was also enough to earn them their second postseason berth in franchise history as well.
Rochester and Syracuse met six times during the course of the regular season, splitting the overall season series at three wins each. Rochester managed to capture two wins on home turf while winning once in the Salt City. A quick look shows the two teams were pretty even in most statistical categories during the 2014-15 season:

Rochester closed out the regular season winning five of their last seven games of the season. In their five wins, the Lancers allowed an average of just four goals per game and their season total of 115 goals against was topped by only eight other teams. Among the two defeats was a thrilling 25-23 loss to Eastern Division champion Baltimore Blast.
Offensively, Rochester tallied 94 points during the final four games of the season scoring 23 or more points in three of the four. The 23 points tallied by the Lancers against the Baltimore were the highest total surrendered by the Blast since 25-10 loss on Valentine's Day, 2010.
