ONEONTA, NY --- Tuesday night's New York-Penn League game at Damaschke Field between the Vermont Lake Monsters and Oneonta Tigers was suspended by rain with the score tied 1-1 in the sixth inning.
The game will resume on Wednesday in the sixth inning and played to its conclusion before the regularly-scheduled 7:00 p.m. nine-inning game between the two teams.
The Tigers jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the second inning Tuesday on a John Murrian RBI single, but Alexis Espinoza was gunned down trying to score by rightfielder Justin Blxom. The Lake Monsters tied the game in the fourth when J.P. Ramirez reached on a two-out fielding error and scored on a Adam Amar RBI double, the only hit for Vermont over the first five innings.
Oneonta starter Adam Wilk allowed just the one unearned run on one hit with no walks and seven strikeouts in five innings, while Vermont starter Juan Jaime gave up one run on five hits with three walks and seven strikeouts in his five innings.
