Lake County Captains to Host Akron RubberDucks in Pre-Season Exhibition Game at Classic Park

(Eastlake, OH) - The Lake County Captains, class A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians, are pleased to announce that it will host a special pre-season exhibition game against the Akron RubberDucks, the class AA affiliate of the Indians, on Tuesday, April 5 at Classic Park. The game is scheduled to begin at 6 PM.

The game will mark the second time in three years that the organizations will meet in a pre-season affair - the Captains hosted the game prior to the 2014 season while last year's contest at Akron was rained out.

In 2014, the Akron club that visited Classic Park for the exhibition game featured current Major League players, and former Captains, Francisco Lindor, Giovanny Urshela, Tyler Holt and Cody Anderson.

While rosters will not be announced until late March for both teams, Lake County fans may have the opportunity to see former Captains players, and Indians first round draft picks Clint Fraizer, Bradley Zimmer and Mike Papi in action for Akron during this contest.

Exhibition game tickets will be $6 for the general public and will be available for purchase in-person at the Classic Park Box Office, via phone at 440.954.WINS or on-line at www.CaptainsBaseball.com beginning March 19 when Captains individual game tickets go on sale.

Following the game, Captains ticket package holders will have the opportunity to participate in an exclusive joint meet-the-teams party in the left field picnic tent, giving fans the chance to take photos with and get autographs from players on both clubs.

The Captains open the 2016 season at home on Thursday, April 7 at 6:30 PM against the Fort Wayne TinCaps. Opening Weekend will continue on April 8 when Lake County hosts its first of 22 post-game fireworks shows.
