LaGrassa, Winn Help with IMPACT Event at Wright Middle School
April 18, 2019 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
Nashville SC News Release
NASHVILLE - On Wednesday afternoon, midfielder Matt LaGrassa and forward Alan Winn alongside staff from Nashville SC held an IMPACT after school event for students at Wright Middle School in Antioch, Tenn.
Around 30 kids enjoyed playing soccer on Nashville SC's street soccer pitch with two pro players for an hour. LaGrassa and Winn helped teach some soccer basics to the kids and then played a little 3-on-2 against the students. After the mini games were done, the students got autographs from and pictures with the two impact players from Nashville SC's latest win.
The IMPACT street soccer initiative is Nashville SC's collaboration with Tennessee Soccer Club to mentor underserved youth through the beautiful game. IMPACT seeks to provide the opportunity for anyone to experience the game no matter their background or economic standing. The program creates a safe, stress free environment for individuals to develop and build important skills, including communication, creativity, collaboration, confidence, and consideration. IMPACT hopes to encourage both positive short and long-term changes in individuals' lives throughout Tennessee.
LaGrassa, Winn and the rest of Nashville SC will be back in action this Saturday on the road at Charleston Battery. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CT and the match will be broadcast on MyTV30.
