
LAFC Loans Defender Lamar Batista to Phoenix Rising FC

The Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) has loaned defender Lamar Batista to Phoenix Rising FC of the USL Championship. Per the Right of Recall incorporated in the loan agreement, LAFC retains the right to recall Batista at any point during the MLS regular season, subject to MLS roster compliance guidelines.
Batista, 20, signed with the Black & Gold on February 21 after spending the entire preseason in Los Angeles. The 6-foot-5 center back appeared in three matches, including the Club's international friendly against Vissel Kobe.
Last season, Batista helped Timbers 2 reach the USL playoffs after appearing in 22 contests, notching one goal and one assist. In his rookie season in 2017, he was named to the USL's 20 Under 20 list after seeing action in 20 matches (19 starts) for Portland.
